Supporting the Guard and Reserve

Mike Broussard of Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, presented the Morgan City Fire Department an award honoring the department’s nomination for the 2015 Freedom Award. While the department did not win the award this year, the department faced competition from much larger fire companies, businesses and Acadian Ambulance, city officials said. Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve is a Department of Defense office that was established in 1972 to promote cooperation and understanding between Reserve Component Service members and their civilian employers and to assist in the resolution of conflicts arising from an employee’s military commitment.
