Suspect's identity sought in M C Bank ATM burglary
Detectives are asking for the public’s help to identify a suspect seen in surveillance footage breaking into a bank in Amelia and attempting break into an ATM inside, according to a St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office news release.
On May 14, detectives with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division began an investigation into a complaint of a burglary of an automated teller machine at M C Bank located on La. 182 Frontage Road in Amelia, the release stated.
Video of the crime obtained from surveillance footage shows a suspect using a grinder to gain access to the building, the release said. Once inside, the suspect made an unsuccessful attempt to break into the ATM, the release stated.
