Seniors honored by St. Mary Council on Aging

St. Mary Council on Aging celebrated the 50th anniversary of Senior Month in May with activities including special events at all three Senior Centers.
The activities included memorial services for all deceased members.
The highlight of the month was the celebration of Older Workers in St. Mary Parish with a Legacy of Achievement luncheon and award ceremony at Cypress Bayou Casino and Hotel.
The 28th winner of the Legacy of Achievement/Older Worker Award was Christine Stewart.
The nominees were:

—Karen Solar, Central Catholic High School
—Christine Stewart, Franklin Foundation Hospital
—Barbara Tardy, Franklin Health Care Center
The nominees have participated in the St. Mary Parish workforce for a total of 170 years.
