JAMES PATRICK 'J.J.' LAFLEUR

James Patrick “J.J.” LaFleur, 44, a resident of Bayou L’Ourse, passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2015, at Teche Regional Medical Center.
J.J. was born on Oct. 17, 1970, in Morgan City, the son of Paul Donald LaFleur Sr. and Patricia Besse.
J.J. was an avid sports fan who enjoyed playing baseball and softball and was playing on a softball team with his son this summer. J.J. was a hard worker who always provided for his family. Any time he would walk into a room he always made his presence known and would put a smile on everyone’s face; J.J. never met a stranger. Of all the things J.J. did in his life, he enjoyed being in the outdoors fishing and going to the camp with his family.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 17 years, Angie Bergeron LaFleur of Bayou L’Ourse; his mother, Patricia Besse Stelly of Morgan City; father, George Aucoin Sr. and wife, Betty, of Bayou Vista; grandmother, Mable Pousson of Bayou Vista; mother-in-law, Sandra Bergeron of Bayou Vista; six children, Cody Rink of Thibodaux, Draven LaFleur and Hannah LaFleur, both of Calumet, and Draco LaFleur, Le’Jen LaFleur and Bray LaFleur, all of Bayou L’Ourse; and two grandchildren.
J.J. is also survived by four brothers, Paul D. LaFleur Jr. and wife, Paula, of Bayou Vista, Glendon Aucoin and wife, Stacey, of Patterson, George Aucoin Jr. and girlfriend, Sue, of Bayou Vista, and Kirk Anslum of Lafayette; two sisters, Tessie Fontenot and fiancée, Jimmy, of Morgan City and Connie Menard and husband, Frankie, of Calumet; one sister-in-law, Stacy Toups and husband, Michael, of Bayou L’Ourse; two brothers-in-law, Russell Bergeron Jr. and wife, Elizabeth, of Patterson and Justin Bergeron and fiancé, Rosalie Perez, of Bayou L’Ourse; special friends, Butch and Kristi Caton; and special baby girl, Kelsey Vaughn.
J.J. was preceded in death by his father, Paul Donald LaFleur Sr.; a sister, Darlene Terrebonne; grandparents, Anita Poovey, Isabelle Besse, Marvin G. Besse Sr., Elvin Pousson, Joseph LaFleur Sr. and Hazel LaFleur; stepfather, Ray Stelly; and father-in-law, Russell Bergeron Sr.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 20, 2015, at Twin City Funeral Home with the Rev. Den Hussey officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Friday, June 19, 2015, at Twin City Funeral Home with the visitation resuming Saturday morning at the funeral home from 8 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. J.J. will be laid to rest in the St. Andrew Catholic Cemetery in Amelia following the funeral services.
