IRVING MURPHY SOLAR

New Iberia — Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2015, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia, for Irving Murphy Solar, 62, who passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2015, at Iberia Medical Center in New Iberia.
Visiting hours were observed at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Saturday.
Masonic Lodge 430 of Bayou Chicot, Louisiana, officiated at the funeral service.
Mr. Solar was a 32nd Degree Mason, and a member of Masonic Lodge 430. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and he cherished moments spent with family and friends, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Henry Solar of New Iberia; daughter, Jocelyn Solar Delaune and husband, William, of Denham Springs; son, Murphy Adam Solar and wife, Stephanie, of Hammond; grandchildren, Garrett Lassitter, William Delaune Jr. and Monique Delaune, all of Denham Springs; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edith and Murphy Alfred Solar; sister, Shirley Solar Mathis; and brother-in-law, Mathew Mathis.
