Parish council meets Wednesday
Members of the St. Mary Parish Council will meet in regular session at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
Items on the agenda include:
—Consideration of a proposed ordinance amending the permitted, limited, specific and prohibited uses table in the zoning ordinance. A public hearing will be called at 5:45 p.m.
—Resolutions on a professional services agreement with Miller Engineers & Associates Inc. on renovations to Wilson’s Boat Launch; agreements with the lowest bidders on the Deer Island Pass Channel dredging project, and the runway and taxiway rehabilitation project at Harry P. Williams Airport; amendment to the intergovernmental agreement with the Sheriff’s Office; a cooperative endeavor agreement with the City of Franklin on payment of salaries, expenses and employees of Franklin City Court Marshal’s Office; a change order and notice of substantial completion on the Chatsworth Bridge repair project; and endorsement of participation in the Enterprise Zone Program by Amelia Hotel Co., LLC and in the Quality Jobs Program by NFR BioEnergy, LLC.
—A request by Fire Protection District 11 Chief Clarence Clark for an $8,000 allocation from the three-tenths percent sales tax collection fund to purchase three new defibrillators.
—A request by Councilmen Glen Hidalgo and Ken Singleton for transfer of up $15,000 from the Wards 5 and 8 three-tenths percent sales tax fund to Hospital Service District 3 for equipment upgrades.
—A visit by Lewis H. Pitman Jr. to announce his candidacy for District Judge, Division D of the 16th Judicial District Court.
The meeting will be held on the fifth floor of the courthouse in Franklin, 500 Main St.
