JULIA 'JUDY' ANN CARPENTER CLARK

June 14, 1954 -July 28, 2015
“Be Still and Know that I am God.” — Psalm 46:10
Heaven has received a special angel and Judy is now in the hands of our Heavenly Father. She entered into eternal peace on Tuesday, July 28, 2015, at 11:41 p.m. at St Joseph’s Carpenter House Hospice in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, surrounded by her husband Gary, her sisters, nephew and nieces.
Judy, age 61, was a long-time resident of Patterson, Louisiana.
She was born on June 14, 1954, in Lecompte, Louisiana, and was the eldest of four sisters.
She graduated from Rapides High School in 1972. After graduating from Lil’s Beauty School in 1973, her career as a hair stylist became her passion for over 42 years. She was the proud owner of Adam & Eve’s Hair Creations in Morgan City, where she worked with her dear friend Shani Osburn. She considered her customers to be her beloved friends.
She leaves behind the love of her life, her husband of 40 years, William Gary Clark; her loving sisters, Janet Wallace with husband Michael, Lilly Brammer, and Billie Jo Rogers with fiancé Daniel Broussard. Also to cherish her memory are her mother-in-law, Mrs. Geneva Clark; along with her in-laws, Elizabeth and Robert Marler, Earl Jr. and Glenda Clark, and Gloria and Floyd Pittman.
Judy is survived by her loving godmother/Aunt Lilly Lee, Aunt Mary Lena, Uncle Nickie Glaviano, and Aunt Pat Glaviano.
Judy was godmother to Chris Carpenter, Brittany Foote and Terresa Dipuma, who were also her nieces and nephew. They loved and adored their “Nanny.”
Judy held a special place in her heart and showed unconditional love for her many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and was an amazing role model for all of them. A host of other cousins, family members and friends are also left to treasure her memory.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Mamie Carpenter; her father-in-law, Earl E. Clark Sr.; as well as her grandparents, Nick and Josephine Glaviano and Alexander and Joanna Carpenter.
Sheba, Jada, Holly and Tootsie were her special “little people in fur,” as she called them, and will be waiting at the Pearly Gates to show her around heaven. She left Stray Man behind as a companion to Gary.
Judy proudly lived her life as a strong woman of GOD and her Catholic faith. She loved and trusted in our Lord and Savior and inspired everyone around her with her unwavering faith. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church where she served as a Eucharistic Minister. She was dedicated to praying for others at her weekly visits to the Adoration Chapel at St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Bayou Vista. She was also a devoted member of the “Come, Lord Jesus” group and cherished her time with each member as they worshiped and prayed together.
Judy also spent many fun years as a member of the Krewe of Galatea in Morgan City.
Judy’s life will be celebrated on Saturday, Aug. 8, 2015, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Patterson, Louisiana. Her memorial service will begin at 10 a.m. in the church parish fellowship hall. A Rosary will be recited at 1:30 p.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church and will be followed by a Holy Sacrifice of the Mass at 2 p.m.
Entombment will be held at the Pythian Cemetery with immediate family at a later date in Bunkie, Louisiana, under the direction of Melancon Funeral Home.
The family extends their appreciation to all of the doctors and nurses who provided her with the ultimate professionalism and care throughout her journey.
Our heartfelt thanks are extended to the entire staff of the St Joseph’s Carpenter House, Our Lady of Lourdes, Mary Bird Perkins, and Ochsner Medical Center. Words cannot express our gratitude for your care and support of our sweet Judy. You will always hold a special place in our hearts.
