Sheriff: Woman entered home, struck occupant

A 22-year-old woman was arrested Saturday, accused of barging into a residence destroying property and striking a male victim, St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert said in a news release.
—Kristin Aucoin, 22, of the 1500 block of Filmore Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 6:16 a.m. Saturday on the charges of domestic abuse battery, criminal damage to property, criminal trespass, and disturbing the peace (intoxicated).
A deputy patrolling Bayou Vista was flagged down by a subject who reported a disturbance at a residence on Carol Road. When the deputy arrived and exited the police unit, he could hear a female voice screaming profanities from inside the home.
The deputy made contact with several subjects inside, including Aucoin, who was identified as the person screaming.
During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that Aucoin barged into the residence tearing curtains from the door which damaged some molding.
While in the residence, she also punched a door, threw several objects to the ground, and struck a male victim in the face.
The deputy transported Aucoin to the parish jail for booking. Aucoin was released after posting $4,500 bond.
Hebert reported responding to 142 complaints over the Labor Day holiday weekend and reported the following arrests in east St. Mary Parish:
—Robert A. Toups, 31, of the 1000 block of Levee Road in Morgan City, was arrested at 1:47 p.m. Friday on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of criminal neglect of family.
A deputy responding to a complaint of a disturbance at a residence on Willow Bend Lane came into contact with Toups and located the active warrant for his arrest.
Toups was released after posting $5,000 bail.
—Cherri L. Pennison, 39, of the 1400 block of Second Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 3:16 p.m. Friday on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of distribution of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of Subutex, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
A deputy conducting a follow-up investigation at the residence on Second Street made contact with Pennison and located an active warrant for her arrest. No bail was set.
—Jeffery Lambert Jr., 17, of the 1400 block of Second Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 3:56 p.m. Friday on a warrant for theft and criminal damage to property.
A deputy investigating a complaint of a theft learned that Lambert damaged a bedroom door and stole two cell phones from a residence he was visiting in Garden City.
The deputy obtained a warrant for Lambert’s arrest and located him at his residence. Lambert was transported to the parish jail for booking. He was later released on a summons to appear in court on Dec. 7.
—Eric Scivicque, 53, of the 2000 block of Bull Run Road in Schriever, was arrested at 3:55 p.m. Monday on the charge of aggravated assault with a firearm. Deputies responded to a complaint of an assault involving a firearm that occurred on U.S. 90 westbound in the Franklin area.
The dispatcher issued a description of the suspect vehicle and learned that the subject involved in the assault was approaching the Patterson area. An officer with the Patterson Police Department conducted a traffic stop.
During the investigation, deputies learned the victim had just merged onto U.S. 90 when Scivicque, who was also traveling on the roadway, became irate and pointed a firearm at the victim.
Scivicque was transported to the parish jail for booking. He was released after posting $5,000 bond.
—Veronica Bernardino, 40, of the 700 block of Gabriel Street in Patterson, was arrested at 4:47 p.m. Monday for improper lane usage, no driver’s license, and possession of fraudulent documents.
A deputy observed a vehicle traveling against traffic and conducted a traffic stop on Federal Avenue near Freret Street in Morgan City. The deputy made contact with Bernardino and requested to see her driver’s license. Bernardino presented an ID.
Upon inspection, the deputy determined that the identification card was a fake. Bernardino was unable to provide a valid driver’s license.
Following the investigation, Bernardino was released on a summons to appear in court on Dec. 17.
—Lucille Gussman, 35, of the 700 block of Franklin Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 7:06 p.m. Friday on the charge of disturbing the peace. A deputy responded to a complaint of a disturbance in progress at a residence on Carol Road in Bayou Vista.
During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that Gussman began yelling outside of a residence causing a disturbance in the neighborhood. The deputy transported Gussman to the parish jail for booking. Gussman was released on a summons to appear in court on Dec. 7.
—Domingo M. Quigley, 46, of the 100 block of Pluto Road in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 3:08 a.m. today on the charges of domestic abuse battery (of a juvenile) and domestic abuse aggravated assault
A deputy patrolling Bayou Vista was flagged down on Pluto Road by a subject who reported a disturbance nearby. The deputy made contact with Quigley and several other subjects.
While investigating the complaint, the deputy learned that Quigley and a 16-year-old juvenile male subject were involved in an argument when Quigley retrieved a knife. Quigley threatened the juvenile and other occupants in the residence with the weapon.
When the juvenile attempted to disarm Quigley, the juvenile sustained a small cut on his hand. Quigley also punched the juvenile in the face during the altercation. The deputy transported Quigley to the parish jail. No bail was set.
—Jahmarcus Paddio, 19, of the 700 block of Freret Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 1:15 a.m. Saturday for distribution of marijuana and possession of marijuana. An undercover narcotics detective made contact with Paddio on the corner of Greenwood and Sixth streets in Morgan City.
The detective negotiated the purchase of several bags of marijuana. Detectives with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division then made contact with Paddio at his room in a motel on La. 182 in Morgan City and located additional marijuana.
Following the investigation, Paddio was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail was set.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported the following arrest:
—Michael Gaines, 57, of Trevino Street in Berwick, was arrested at 11:09 p.m. Monday on the charges of loud music, driving under suspension, open container and driving while intoxicated third offense by refusal. No bail was set.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported no arrests.
