Morgan City High School volleyball tournament will begin Thursday

Morgan City High School will host its 2015 annual Lady Tiger Classic beginning Thursday and continuing Saturday.
Teams will compete in either White or Green Division.
In the Green Division, Newman, Riverside Academy, Sam Houston, St. Louis and Thibodaux will compete in Pool A, while Episcopal School of Acadiana, Hahnville, Morgan City, South Terrebonne and Westlake will compete in Pool B.
In the White Division, Pool A consists of Central Lafourche, Ellender, Covenant Christian, New Iberia and Patterson. Pool B includes Houma Christian, Landry Walker, South Lafourche, Sulphur and West St. Mary.
Action will begin Thursday with contests played at Morgan City High School in the boys’ gym and the school’s multi-purpose building.
In the boys’ gym, local action includes New Iberia and Patterson meeting at 6:30 p.m.
In the multi-purpose building, Episcopal School of Acadiana will meet Morgan City at 5:30 p.m., while Morgan City will face South Terrebonne at 6:30 p.m.
On Saturday, action will be split between Morgan City High School for the Green Division and Morgan City Junior High for the White Division.
Area action at the high school included Morgan City facing Hahnville at 10:30 a.m. in the multi-purpose building and Morgan City meeting Westlake at 12:30 p.m. in the multi-purpose building.
At Morgan City Junior High, Patterson will compete in the boys’ gym against Central Lafourche at 10:30 a.m., against Covenant Christian at 1:30 p.m. and against Ellender at 3:30 p.m.
In the White Division, the winner of Pool A will face the runner-up of Pool B at 5:30 p.m. in the girls’ gym, while the winner of Pool B will face the runner up of Pool B, also at 5:30 p.m., in the boys’ gym.
The two winners will advance to a 6:30 p.m. final.
In the Green Division, the winner of Pool B will face the runner-up of Pool A at 4:30 p.m. in the boys’ gym, while the winner of Pool A will face the runner-up of Pool B, also at 4:30 p.m., in the multi-purpose building. The two semifinal winners then will meet in the finals at 5:30 p.m. in the multi-purpose building.
