U.S. 90 bridge east shut down after wreck

The U.S. 90 bridge eastbound lanes were shut down for a couple hours Thursday afternoon due to a two-vehicle wreck involving a sugar cane truck, St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office Spokeswoman Traci Landry said. As of 2:15 p.m. Thursday, both eastbound lanes had reopened.
The preliminary investigation indicated that a passenger vehicle rear ended a truck hauling sugar cane on the bridge, Landry said. No other information was available as of Thursday afternoon, she said.
