Suspect in La. 182 robbery surrenders to police

A 19-year old Gibson man turned himself in to police on a warrant related to complaints of a robbery on La. 182, Morgan City Police Chief James Blair said in news release.
—Raven T. Mayon, 19, of Bayou Black Drive in Gibson, was arrested at 7:55 a.m. Monday on a warrant for second-degree robbery. Mayon went to the Morgan City Police Department to turn himself in on the warrant.
The warrant was obtained from an investigation conducted by Morgan City Police Department detectives in regards to the complaint of a robbery near La. 182 on Oct. 10. Mayon was arrested and jailed.
Blair reported the following arrests:
—James W. Minton, 38, of Glennwood Street in Morgan City, at 10:54 p.m. Sunday on the charge of driving while intoxicated. An officer responded to the intersection of La. 182 and Martin Luther King Boulevard in regards to a stalled vehicle.
The officer located the vehicle and came into contact with Minton, who admitted to being the driver of the vehicle. During the investigation, it appeared that Minton was intoxicated. Minton was transported to the Morgan City Police Department and submitted to the Intoxilyzer 5000 yielding a blood alcohol concentration of .256. Minton was placed under arrest and jailed.
—Elton J. Landry, 53, of Federal Avenue in Morgan City, at 2:28 a.m. Monday on the charges of improper lane usage and driving while intoxicated.
An officer patrolling the area of Seventh Street observed a vehicle swerving out of the lane of travel nearly striking a garbage can. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was identified as Landry. According to reports, Landry appeared to be intoxicated. Landry was transported to the Morgan City Police Department and submitted to the Intoxilyzer 5000 yielding a blood alcohol concentration of .177 grams percent. Landry was placed under arrest and jailed.
—Kesajan D. West, 20, of Rayville, at 7:49 a.m. Monday on a warrant for hate crimes (16th Judicial District Court). An officer went to an address on Garber Street to locate West in regards to a warrant held by the Morgan City Police Department.
The warrant was obtained from an investigation of an incident that occurred on Oct. 8, in which West was accused of committing a battery. The officer made contact with West at the residence, placed him under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department. He was jailed.
—Randall M. Lejeune, 53, of Southeast Boulevard in Morgan City, at 10:15 a.m. Monday on a warrant for theft by shoplifting (6th Ward Morgan City Court). Lejeune was transported to the Morgan City Police Department by the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office. Lejeune was booked into the Morgan City Police Department Jail and incarcerated.
—Allen J. Jeanise, 57, of La. 182 in Morgan City, at 11:17 p.m. Saturday on the charge of criminal mischief.
An officer patrolling the area of Front Street observed a person on the unprotected side of the seawall throwing items. The officer made contact with Jeanise and advised him that he could not be in the construction site and would have to leave. Jeanise refused to leave, at which time he was jailed.
—Johnathon M. Priestly, 22, of Fourth Street in Morgan City, at 12:26 a.m. Sunday on the charges of driving a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license, possession of drug paraphernalia, speeding 49 mph in a 35 mph zone, improper lane usage, and on a Patterson Police warrant for failure to appear on the charge of no seatbelt.
—Eugene J. LeBlanc, 20, of Elaine Street in Morgan City, at 12:26 a.m. Sunday on the charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.
An officer patrolling the area of La. 182 near 11th Street observed a vehicle speeding. The officer clocked the vehicle at 49 mph and observed the vehicle traveling out of the lane of travel and conducted a traffic stop. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Priestly, and the passenger as LeBlanc. Priestly had a suspended driver’s license.
The officer received consent to search the vehicle, and located suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Both Priestly and LeBlanc admitted to possessing the drug paraphernalia and the suspected marijuana was believed to belong to LeBlanc. Both Priestly and LeBlanc were jailed.
—Maria A. Cubero-Bonilla, 35, of Shannon Street in Morgan City, at 2:43 a.m. Sunday on the charge of improper lighting, on a warrant charging her with telephone harassment and on the charge of simple assault.
An officer patrolling the area of Dawn Drive observed a vehicle with improper lighting and conducted a traffic stop. The driver, identified as Cubero-Bonilla, was discovered to have a warrant for her arrest. She was jailed.
—Kesler Y. Suazo, 23, of Louisa Street in Morgan City, at 2:47 a.m. Sunday on the charges of improper lane usage, possession of an open alcoholic container, no driver’s license and driving while intoxicated.
An officer patrolling the area of La. 182 near 11th Street observed a vehicle swerving out of the lane of travel. The driver, Suazo, did not have a driver’s license. An open container of beer was observed inside the vehicle and Suazo appeared to be intoxicated. Suazo registered a blood alcohol concentration of 0.157 grams percent. Suazo was jailed.
—Tanika M. Short, 43, of Railroad Avenue in Morgan City, at 4:35 a.m. Sunday on the charge of disturbing the peace by fighting.
—Leanna M. Steele, 28, of Friendship Lane in Morgan City, at 4:34 a.m. Sunday on the charges of disturbing the peace by fighting, criminal damage to property, on warrants for 16th Judicial District Court for failure to comply with drug court on the charge of simple battery and failure to comply with drug court on the charge of theft of goods.
Officers responded to an address on Railroad Avenue in regards to a fight. Officers located Steele and Short and spoke with several witnesses to determine that Short and Steele had been fighting. Both Short and Steele were jailed.
—Felix D. Oclair, 19, of St. Augustine, Florida, at 11:12 p.m. Sunday on the charges of possession of marijuana and improper lighting.
An officer patrolling La. 182 near Justa Street observed a vehicle with improper lighting and conducted a traffic stop.
The driver, Oclair, returned to the vehicle to retrieve his registration when the officer observed what appeared to be marijuana in plain view. Oclair was jailed.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported the following arrests:
—Earl L. Perro, 34, of the 400 block of Como Street in Patterson, at 6:20 p.m. Sunday on a St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office warrant for failure to appear on the charge of angling without a license and on a warrant for Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office for failure to appear on the charge of issuing worthless checks under $300. Perro was jailed on $5,300 bail.
—Shawn Welsh, 44, of the 700 block of Gabriel Street in Patterson, at 8:36 p.m. Sunday on a St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office warrant for failure to appear on the charge of criminal neglect of family. Welsh was jailed on $217 bail.
—Kobe M. Gray, 17, of the 300 block of Grout Street in Patterson, at 10:51 p.m. on the charge of simple battery. Gray remains jailed on $500 bail.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported no arrests.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported responding to 37 complaints and reported no arrest in east St. Mary Parish.
