Weisheit will speak
Keith Weisheit with Synergy Home Care will be the speaker at the next St. Mary Chamber of Commerce Rise-N-Shine event at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Holiday Inn, 520 Roderick St., Morgan City.

Two classes offered
The St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office will conduct two classes devoted to public safety.
The first is a Rape Aggression Defense course for women ages 16 and over.
The class will be 5:30-8 p.m. Nov. 4-5 at the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office Training Center, 1815 Terrace Highway, St. Martinville.

The second is an AARP Driver’s Safety Class 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Nov. 17.
The class will be at the training center. It’s open to anyone 55 and over. The cost is $15 for AARP members and $20 for nonmembers.

We are the future!
The future has brought us many tech gadgets. However, with all of these futuristic gadgets and advancements, the need for blood from volunteer blood donors still has no replacement. Blood for patients is only available when generous, healthy human beings take the time to roll up their sleeve and donate.
Donate blood at the Morgan City Donor Center, located at 1234 David Drive, Suite 102 (across from Terrebonne Regional Hospital), from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, and you will be entered to win a self-balancing hover board! Donors will also receive a pink, “Fearless” stadium cup and a “Monsters are Real” T-shirt, both items while supplies last.
