MCHS' Vining named first-team All-District 7-4A

Morgan City High School’s All-District 7-4A football selections were highlighted by senior Hunter Vining.
The 5-foot, 10-inch, 275-pound offensive lineman was a first-team selection for the Tigers.
Morgan City had two offensive selections on the second team at wide receiver. Junior Makye Richard and senior Lloyd Singleton made the team.
Meanwhile, on the defensive second team, Singleton made the squad at defensive back and punter.
Morgan City had six honorable mention selections on offense: junior offensive linemen James Bennett and Fred Ferguson, junior running backs Ethan Scioneaux, Malik Phillips and Kedrick Scott and senior kicker Miguel Perez.
The Tigers had eight players named honorable mention selections on defense: sophomore defensive linemen Gage Gros, senior defensive lineman Clifton Escort, senior linebackers Zachary Hillen and Andre Welsh, sophomore defensive back Kalen Hillen, junior defensive backs Scott Comeaux and Richard and sophomore defensive back Alex Brocato.
Assumption senior quarterback Daron Williams is the district’s Offensive Most Valuable Player, while South Terrebonne junior defensive lineman Louie Blanchard is the district’s Defensive Most Valuable Player. Tony Paine of district champion Assumption is the district’s Coach of the Year.
