Lady Hornets notch victory over Lady Pats

DELCAMBRE _ The Franklin Lady Hornets defeated the North Vermilion Lady Patriots 43-40 in double overtime in their first game of the Lynette Viator Memorial Tournament here Wednesday at the Delcambre High School Gym.
Franklin and North Vermilion played to a 30-30 tie at the end of regulation before finishing in a 35-35 knot at the end of the first extra session.
Franklin went on an 8-5 run in the second overtime session to notch a 43-40 double overtime victory.
Leading scorers for the Lady Hornets were: Quanta Jones, 23 points on seven field goals, and 9 of 14 freebies; Chardonnae Parker, 9 points on four FGs and 1 of 9 free throws; Kaira Butler, 9 points, four field goals, 1 of 4 free throws and Samantha Frederick with 2 points.
Jones hit the game tying basket with two seconds to go in regulation.
