Centerville Bulldogs holds off Grand Isle; Tigers down Hornets; Lady Bulldogs defeat Grand Isle Lady Trojans

CENTERVILLE _ Centerville improves to 2-2 with a 38-36 win over the Grand Isle Trojans here at the Centerville Gym Tuesday.
Grand Isle (7-3) built a short-lived 6-2 lead over Centerville in the opening stanza. Centerville rallied for a 22-17 halftime cushion thanks to a 20-11 run in the second quarter. Grand Isle enjoyed a 12-8 third quarter flurry to trail the Bulldogs by a slim 30-29 margin. Down the stretch, Centerville outpointed Grand Isle by a narrow 8-7 margin to ice away the 36-38 victory.

Cy Billiot and C. J. Nguyen led Grand Isle with 18 and 10 points respectively.
FRANKLIN_The Bulldogs will travel to Jeanerette on Thursday for a 5:30 junior varsity boys game followed by boys varsity.
The Jeanerette Tigers jumped out to a 22-5 first quarter lead and never looked back in earning a 71-57 win over the Franklin Hornets Tuesday at the Franklin High School Gym.
Jeanerette extended its lead to 37-22 at the half before gaining the 71-57 win.
Dwonyell Charles led Franklin in scoring with a game-high 19 points. Other top scorers for Franklin were: Kevin Ina, 7; Isiah Washington, 2; Trey James, 8; John Boyd, 3; Jarius Boyd, 5 and Zeke Perry, 3.
E. Jordan led the Tigers with 17 points while T. Polidore finished with 16. Q. Baptist added 14 points with J. Johnlewis bagging 12 points.
Franklin will return to action next Tuesday at home versus the Hanson Tigers.
CENTERVILLE _ Kayla Robinson scored 15 points and Hailey McDaniel added 10 as the Centerville Lady Bulldogs defeated the Grand Isle Lady Trojans 41-26 Tuesday at the CHS Gym.
Centerville raced out to a commanding 13-2 first quarter lead before building an insurmountable 37-12 at the end of the third quarter on the way to the 41-26 victory.
Kyla Crosby led Grand Isle with 13 points.
