Man accused of choking woman
A 45-year-old Bayou Vista man was arrested on a warrant alleging that he choked a woman, St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert said in a news release.
—Tommy McNally, 45, of the 1300 block of Middle Road in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 3:22 p.m. Saturday on a warrant for domestic abuse battery (strangulation).
On Saturday, a deputy investigating a report of domestic violence collected evidence that McNally grabbed a female victim by the throat and choked her while at a residence in Bayou Vista. The deputy located McNally at his residence and transported him to the parish jail. No bail is set.
Hebert reported responding to 107 complaints in the parish and reported these arrests:
—Herman J. Butler, 28, of Berwick, was additionally charged at 4:51 p.m. Thursday on warrants for possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a juvenile, violation of a controlled dangerous substance (drug free zone), and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
The warrant is the result of an investigation that began Jan. 20 at Butler’s residence. Narcotics detectives located a firearm and a bag of crack cocaine belonging to Butler. Detectives developed additional evidence that showed Butler had possession of these items prior to his arrest on Jan. 6. Butler was already incarcerated at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center. No bail is set.
—Brandi Hebert, 35, of the 100 block of West Side Park Lane in Amelia, at 11:08 a.m. Friday on a warrant for simple battery.
A deputy collected statements and other evidence indicating that Hebert struck a female victim in the face during an argument at a bar. A deputy located Hebert at her residence on the warrant. Hebert was released on a summons to appear in court on March 30.
—Edward C. Francois, 33, of the 900 block of Railroad Avenue in Morgan City, at 11:54 a.m. Friday on two Houma City Court warrants for failure to appear on charges of operating a vehicle with an expired driver’s license and improper left turn at intersection.
During booking at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center, a correctional officer located the active warrants for Francois’ arrest. No bail is set.
—Jolene R. Guillory, 40, of the 2800 block of Third Street in Berwick, at 9:54 pm Friday on a warrant with Patterson Police Department for aggravated second-degree battery (with medical attention) and simple battery.
A dispatcher received information regarding the location of a subject wanted on the active warrant. A deputy was dispatched to the address of a bar on La. 182 in Bayou Vista and located Guillory on the warrant. Guillory was transported to the parish jail for booking and was released after posting bail set at $3,000.
—Alfred Turner, 30, of the 100 block of Chateau Court in Patterson, at 10:28 p.m. Friday on charges of no license plate light and driving under suspension.
A deputy patrolling Bayou Vista observed a vehicle traveling on La. 182 without a license plate light and with only one operational headlight. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as Turner. While speaking with Turner, the deputy discovered that he was driving the vehicle with a suspended license. Turner was released on a summons to appear in court on March 30.
—Kirk P. Chaisson, 56, of the 400 block of Southwest Road in Bayou Vista, at 8:49 a.m. Saturday on charges for possession of Schedule 2 drugs and possession of Schedule 4 drugs.
A deputy assisting a Berwick police officer with the traffic stop investigation of a reported reckless driver, made contact with the driver, identified as Chaisson, and received consent to search the vehicle. The deputy located a prescription pill bottle containing two types of pills that were not listed on the prescription, oxycodone and alprazolam. Chaisson was transported to the parish jail for booking. Chaisson was later released on bail set at $2,500.
—Jerrence Ford Sr., 27, of the 100 block of Friendship Alley in Amelia, at 8:05 p.m. Saturday on charges for resisting an officer by force. A deputy responded to a complaint of a disturbance at a business in Amelia.
Upon arrival, the deputy found a male and female subject arguing. Both subjects were detained pending further investigation. While speaking with the subjects, the man repeatedly refused to give his name and began to pull away from a deputy. The male subject was later identified as Ford. Following the investigation into the complaint, Ford was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.
—Tarell R. Boulanger, 24, of the 1400 block of Hickory Street in Patterson, at 1:13 p.m. Sunday on warrants for failure to appear on the charge of simple battery, failure to appear on the charges of possession of synthetic cannabinoids with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia, flight from an officer, and resisting an officer.
During booking at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center, a corrections officer located the active warrants for Boulanger’s arrest. No bail is set.
—Leslie J. Matthews, 40, of the 100 block of Friendship Alley in Amelia, at 4:58 p.m. Sunday on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of altering a prescription for a controlled dangerous substance.
A deputy received information regarding the whereabouts of a subject who held active warrants. The deputy located Matthews at a medical facility in Morgan City and transported her to the parish jail for booking.
—Gregory Payne, 40, of the 1900 block of Saturn Road in Bayou Vista, at 9:40 p.m. Sunday on charges of domestic abuse battery and disturbing the peace.
A deputy responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence in Bayou Vista. During the course of the investigation, a deputy collected information indicating that Payne slammed a door into a female victim causing the door to strike the victim’s knee. Payne was also screaming during the incident causing a disturbance in the neighborhood. The deputy transported Payne to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported the following arrests:
—Blake Giroir, 19, of the 2900 block of Third Street in Berwick, at 3:46 a.m. Saturday on the charges of simple battery and disturbing the peace. Giroir was released on $646 bail.
—Elijah Percle, 19, of the 2100 block of La. 182 in Patterson, at 3:46 a.m. Saturday on the charges of simple battery and disturbing the peace. Percle was released on $646 recognizance bail.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported no arrests.
Morgan City Police Chief James Blair reported the following:
—Dietra R. James, 36, of Louisiana Street in Morgan City, at 8:21 a.m. Friday on a warrant for failure to return leased merchandise.
James was located by an officer on La. 182 at Roderick Street and she was arrested on an active arrest warrant held by the Morgan City Police Department. James was booked into the Morgan City Police Department Jail and incarcerated.
—Buddy L. Martin, 45, of Mike Street in Patterson, at 3:14 p.m. Friday on charges of improper turning, possession of cocaine, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
A patrolling officer observed a vehicle making an improper turn at the intersection of General McArthur and Sixth Street. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver identified as Martin. During the investigation, Martin aroused officers’ suspicions that he may have been involved in illegal drug activity. A search of the vehicle was conducted when officers located suspected cocaine and drug paraphernalia. Martin was placed under arrest and booked into the Morgan City Police Department Jail where he was incarcerated .
—Oscar Guido-Rodriguez, 22, of Victor II Boulevard in Morgan City, at 8:59 a.m. Saturday on the charges of resisting an officer by giving false information and warrants for failure to appear for no driver’s license, failure to appear for no vehicle insurance, failure to appear for reckless operation of a motor vehicle, and contempt of court.
Guido-Rodriguez was identified by officers while conducting a traffic investigation on Brashear Avenue near Sixth Street. It was learned that Guido-Rodriguez had given officers a false name in an attempt to hide his identity. A warrant check revealed that the Morgan City Police Department held several active warrants for Guido-Rodriguez. Guido Rodriguez was arrested and booked into the Morgan City Police Department Jail where he was incarcerated .
—Rodney Castle, 51, of Shannon Street in Morgan City, at 11:24 p.m. Saturday on the charge of appearing in public in an intoxicated condition.
An officer responded to the area of Second Street near Terrebonne Street in regards to a suspicious subject in the area. A description of the subject was provided and officers located Rodney Castle in the area. While speaking with Castle, it was believed that Castle had been drinking and appeared to be intoxicated. Castle was arrested and booked into the Morgan City Police Department Jail where he was incarcerated .
—Rick K. Bui, 30, of Magnolia Street in Morgan City, at 11:53 p.m. Saturday on a charge of simple assault.
Officers responded to a local business on Roderick Street in regards to a disturbance. Contact was made with the complainant and witnesses who told officers that Bui was inside the business causing a disturbance. Bui was told by the complainant to leave when Bui assaulted the complainant. Bui was located moments later, and placed under arrest and booked into the Morgan City Police Department Jail where he was incarcerated .
—Deandre J. Austin, 22, of Park Street in Patterson, at 5:12 p.m. Sunday on the charges of illegal window tint, possession with the intent to distribute marijuana, transactions involving proceeds from controlled dangerous substance activity, monetary instrument abuse, and driving under suspension.
—Kayla Scott, 22, of Baldwin, at 5:12 p.m. Sunday on a charge of possession with the intent to distribute marijuana.
A patrolling officer observed a vehicle with illegal window tint on the front windshield on Sixth Street near Marguerite Street. A traffic stop was conducted when the officer identified the driver, Austin, and passenger, Scott. A driver’s license check revealed that Austin had a suspended license. Both Austin and Scott’s behavior aroused the officer’s suspicions that they may have been involved in illegal drug activity. A search of the vehicle was conducted and officers located suspected marijuana along with U.S. currency. The marijuana was packed in way that led officers to believe it was intended for sale, and the currency was believed to be obtained from illegal narcotics sales. Some of the U.S. currency located appeared to be counterfeit.
Both Austin and Scott were placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where they were booked and jailed .
—Curtis R. Robinson, 46, of Brashear Avenue in Morgan City, Sunday on a charge for theft of goods.
An officer responded to a local store on Brashear Avenue in regards to a shoplifter. It was reported that the suspect had left the store prior to officer’s arrival. Video footage of the incident was captured. Robinson was identified by officers on camera taking items from the store and concealing them on his person. Robinson was located in the area moments later and was placed under arrest and booked into the Morgan City Police Department Jail where he was incarcerated .
—Jody S. Shannon, 55, of La. 182 Morgan City, at 12:22 a.m. today on a charge of appearing in public in an intoxicated condition.
An officer responded to a local store on La. 182 in regards to a complaint of a subject stumbling in the area. Officers located Shannon, who was believed to have been drinking and appeared to be intoxicated. Shannon was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department Jail where he was booked and incarcerated .
