Keeping an eye on the weather

Birds perched atop pilings this morning in Lake Palourde at Lake End Park seem to be watching distant rainfall. A different set of weather-watchers –– the National Weather Service –– forecasts diminishing rain today, followed by cooler weather moving into St. Mary Parish. From Thursday through the weekend, highs will be in the 50s, and lows will be 35 to 40. On Saturday, the birds will have more rain to watch.
