Northside edges by Franklin

The Northside Vikings scored a 12-4 win over the Franklin Hornets Tuesday at the Franklin Hornets Baseball Field in non-district action.
M. Boyd hurled Northside to the victory, working six complete innings, allowing two earned runs on five hits with eight strikeouts and two walks.
Franklin’s Brent Ina took the mound loss after throwing 5 and 1/3 frames, giving up five earned runs on seven hits with five strikeouts and two walks. Lamar Joseph appeared in relief of Ina and worked 1 2/3 innings, surrendering three runs while fanning one.
Top hitters for Franklin were: Austin Hale, 3 for 4; Rustin Bertrand, 2 for 3 and Brent Ina, 1 for 3.
Franklin (2-4) will travel to play Grand Isle on Thursday and Ellender on Monday before opening District 8-3A play next week at Berwick on Tuesday before hosting Berwick on Thursday.
