Hanson Lady Tigers notch victories to end regular season

Hanson Memorial’s Lady Tigers finished the regular season with a sparkling 21-5 overall record after a pair of road victories on Saturday and Monday.
On Saturday, the Hanson Memorial Lady Tigers rolled over the Highland Baptist Lady Bears 10-0 in an abbreviated contest as Sarah Sonnier and Ashley Meyerholtz combined on a no-hitter in the District 7-1A finale.
On Monday, Hanson’s Lady Tigers defeated the Vandebilt Catholic Lady Terriers by an 8-0 margin in the regular season contest behind another shutout effort from winning pitcher Sarah Sonnier.
Hanson seized the 2016 District 7-1A Championship with a 13-1 overall record last Thursday.
Hanson, which holds the No. 3 ranking in the poll, will await the State Class 1-A playoff pairings which were announced earlier today.

Sarah Sonnier and Ashley Meyerholtz combined on a no-hitter as the Hanson Lady Tigers defeated Highland Baptist by a score of 10-0 in five innings Saturday in New Iberia.
Sonnier was the winning pitcher after facing 12 batters, not allowing a hit nor a run while striking out four and walking two.
Meyerholtz faced seven batters, not allowing a hit nor a run while fanning seven and walking one over two frames.

Sarah Sonnier tossed a one-hit shutout, leading the Hanson Lady Tigers to an 8-0 victory over the Vanderbilt Catholic Lady Terriers of Houma on Monday in the regular season finale.
Sonnier was brilliant once again in the circle. She faced 23 batters, allowed no runs while giving up just one hit with six strikeouts and one walk.
