The fifth annual Memorial Day Remembrance is 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Cypress Park, Morgan City. Schedule: 9:30 a.m. rosary for veterans at Fallen Warriors Memorial (Morgan City Municipal Auditorium); 10:30 a.m. ceremony in park with speaker retired Sgt. Sold as part of May 30 Memorial Day Remembrance at Cypress Park, Morgan City. Menu: barbecued chicken, pulled pork, sausage, rice dressing, baked beans and coleslaw. Cost $8. Drinks and sweets sold.

FISHING RODEO
Morgan City Oilfield Fishing Rodeo May 7 features four categories for anglers: redfish, bass, speckled trout and catfish derby. Individual entries: $100 per boat, per category. Sponsorship levels available: corporate sponsor, $500; gold sponsor, $1,000; and diamond sponsor, $2,500. Corporate sponsorship includes one team entry for one category, gold sponsor includes a team entry for two categories and diamond sponsor includes two team entries for all categories. Entry deadline 8 p.m. May 2. Fishing 6 a.m. to 4 p.m., weigh-in begins at 2 p.m. at the Patterson Area Civic Center. Golf scramble set 4 p.m. May 6 at The Atchafalaya at Idlewild.
