Patterson man faces domestic, endangerment charges
A 33-year-old Patterson man was arrested today for pushing a female numerous times in front of a child, St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert said in a news release.
—Earl W. Deare, 33, of the 400 block of Tiffany Street in Patterson, was arrested at 2:46 a.m. today on the charges of domestic abuse battery-child endangerment and criminal damage to property.
Investigating a report of a disturbance at a gas station in the Centerville area, a deputy found evidence that Deare repeatedly pushed a female victim and threw her cellphone into a nearby body of water while at a campground on La. 317. A child was present during the battery. Deare was jailed with no bail set.
Hebert reported responding to 124 complaints in the parish and reported the following arrests relating to east St. Mary Parish:
—Wilbert Poole III, 22, of the 100 block of Todd Lane in Bayou Vista, at 3:32 p.m. Friday on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of open alcoholic beverages in motor vehicles. A deputy investigating a complaint on Todd Lane made contact with Poole and located the active warrant for his arrest. Poole was booked into parish jail and released after posting $250 bail.
—Chad Williams, 27, of the 100 block of Burchfield Lane in Berwick, at 8:44 a.m. Saturday on the charges of failure to signal 100 feet prior to an intersection, stop sign violation, flight from an officer and driving under suspension.
A deputy patrolling Bayou Vista observed a vehicle turn from La. 182 onto Jupiter Street without signaling the turn. The deputy then observed the vehicle fail to come to a complete stop at a stop sign and initiated a traffic stop. The driver failed to pull over and continued to travel failing to come to a complete stop at another stop sign. The driver then pulled into the parking lot of a business where the deputy made contact with him and identified him as Williams. Williams was unable to provide a valid driver’s license. The deputy found that Williams was operating the vehicle with a suspended license. Following the investigation, Williams was transported to the parish jail for booking. Williams was released on a $2,500 bond.
—Johnathan Lindsey, 31, of the 2700 block of Shaw Drive in Morgan City, at 2:09 a.m. Sunday on the charges of improper lane usage, driving under suspension and possession of synthetic cannabinoids. A deputy traveling on La. 182 in the Siracusa area observed a vehicle with no headlights driving on the roadway.
The deputy also observed the driver crossing onto the shoulder of the highway several times and made a traffic stop. The driver was identified as Lindsey, who was operating the vehicle with a suspended license. The deputy received consent to search the vehicle and located a piece of a burnt cigarette containing a synthetic drug. Following the traffic stop investigation, Lindsey was released on a summons to appear in court Aug. 29.
—Somphone Khayankane, 34, of the 2300 block of Darnell Road in New Iberia, at 12:48 a.m. today on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of simple battery. A deputy traveling on U.S. 90 in the Patterson area observed a vehicle driving on the fog line and conducted a traffic stop. The deputy made contact with the driver, Khayankane, and located the active warrant. Khayankane was jailed with no bail set.
Morgan City Police Chief James Blair reported the following arrests:
—Tyron T. Goudy, 25, of Tiger Drive in Thibodaux, at 11:34 pm. Saturday on charges of improper lane usage, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, violation of uniformed controlled dangerous substance laws, and illegal carrying of a firearm while in presence of a controlled dangerous substance.
A patrolling officer observed a vehicle traveling on Martin Luther King Boulevard make an unsafe lane change without using a turn signal. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was identified as Goudy.
Goudy was told the reason of the stop. Goudy’s behavior raised the officer’s suspicions that illegal drug activity may be involved. A search of the vehicle was conducted and the officer located suspected marijuana, drug paraphernalia and a firearm.
The location of the incident was within the area of a local church in violation of uniformed controlled dangerous substance laws. Goudy was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Jail where Goudy was booked and incarcerated .
—Danielle Kinkle, 23, of Mercury Street in Pierre Part, at 3:10 p.m. Friday on the charge of probation violation.
Kinkle was arrested in the Morgan City Court regarding an active warrant held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Kinkle was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.
—Teligia M. Busby, 50, of Main Street in Morgan City, at 4:30 p.m. Friday on warrants for failure to appear Thursday for possession of stolen things and failure to appear for theft.
Busby was located by officers on Railroad Avenue near Myrtle Street and was arrested on active warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court.
Busby was transported to the Morgan City Jail and was booked and incarcerated.
—Christopher Fryar, 33, of Brashear Avenue in Morgan City, at 6:28 p.m. Friday on charges of possession of methamphetamine, violation of uniformed controlled dangerous substance laws, and warrants for failure to appear (March 29) for stop sign violation and failure to appear (Feb. 18) for not yielding with an accident.
Fryar was located by an officer in the area of La. 182 near Martin Luther King Boulevard. Fryar was arrested on active warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court and the Patterson Police Department.
Fryar was searched when the officer located suspected methamphetamine on him. The location of the incident was within the area of a local church in violation of uniformed controlled dangerous substance laws.
Fryar was transported to the Morgan City Jail and was booked and incarcerated.
—Ross Duhon, 29, of Sixth Street in Morgan City, at 1:11 a.m. Saturday on a charge of simple battery.
An officer responded to an address on Sixth Street in regards to a call of a battery. The officer arrived when the officer spoke with the victim of the incident who according to reports showed signs of a battery.
The officer was told that the victim and Duhon were involved in an argument when Duhon allegedly committed a battery on the victim.
The officer spoke with Duhon who was at the residence when the officer obtained evidence supporting the alleged battery. Duhon was placed under arrest, and transported to the Morgan City Jail . Duhon was booked and incarcerated.
—Ruben Peredo-Leon, 34, of Degravel Road in Morgan City, at 7:01 p.m. Sunday on the charge of speeding and warrants for failure to appear (June 2, 2015) for driving while intoxicated and probation violation.
An officer observed a vehicle traveling on La. 182 at a rate of speed higher than the posted speed limit. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was identified as Peredo-Leon.
A warrants check revealed that Peredo-Leon had active warrants through the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Peredo-Leon was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated .
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported the following arrests:
—George Geoffroy, 53, of the 100 block of Mars Road in Morgan City, at 10:11 p.m. Friday on the charges of careless operation, suspended driver’s license, no proof of insurance, possession of drug paraphernalia first offense, possession of marijuana first offense and DUI first offense. Geoffroy was jailed with no bail set.
—Shelby Keller, 23, of the 2700 block of Hayes Lane in Patterson, at 11:26 a.m. on the charges of simple battery and disturbing the peace fighting. Keller was released on $732 bail.
—Edward Hampton Jr., 31, of the 100 block of Todd Lane in Morgan City, at 11:32 a.m. Sunday on the charge of disturbing the peace fighting. Hampton was released on $413 bail.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported no arrests.
