Foundation Hospital welcomes two new contract physicians

The Franklin Foundation Hospital Board of Commissioners announces two new contracts for family medicine providers to join the hospital’s medical staff.
Dr. Smita Prasad and Dr. Brian Baesler will arrive in August to offer family medicine services at the Franklin Foundation Hospital Medical Office Building at 200 Medical Drive.
Dr. Smita Prasad is currently enrolled in the Baton Rouge General Medicine Center Family Medicine Residency Program, affiliated with Tulane University. She will graduate in June and tentatively arrive in Franklin on Aug. 1. Dr. Prasad will specialize in family medicine and women’s health. Dr. Prasad volunteers at Camp Erin and has just returned from a mission trip to Nicaragua; she has two rescue canines and enjoys getting involved with the community.
Dr. Brian Baesler is currently enrolled at the LSU Health Science Center Shreveport located in Monroe. Dr. Baesler will graduate in June and tentatively arrive on Aug. 1. Dr. Baesler will focus on family medicine for all ages. He is married with two small children. They enjoy camping, hiking, fishing and are nature-lovers.
“We are so pleased to sign two new family medicine physicians to help build our foundation,” Board Chairman Eugene Foulcard said. “These providers will offer new medical choices in the immediate service area as well as offer a convenience to our local residents.”

“They are eager to get here and start their local practice.”
