Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 25, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Ibert’s Mortuary in Franklin for Emily Ruiz Luke, a native of Iberia Parish and a longtime resident of Centerville, who passed away at the age of 77 on Friday, May 20, 2016 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette. She will be laid to rest in the Sacred Heart Cemetery Mausoleum. Father Lloyd Benoit will conduct the services. Serving as pallbearers will be Rickey Aucoin, Karl Young Jr., Dennis Zweigle, Minus Boiteaux, Scott Treadway, and Dennis Mayon.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Tuesday at Ibert’s Mortuary from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m., with the Holy Rosary being prayed at 7 p.m. Visitations will resume on Wednesday at Ibert’s at 9 a.m. and continue until service time.
Survivors include her husband of nearly 44 years, Farrell Luke; four children, Darlene Aucoin Young and her husband, Karl Young Jr. of Natchitoches; Rickey Aucoin and his wife Virginia, of Franklin; Tammy Aucoin Zweigle and her husband Dennis, of Frisco, TX; and Tiffany Luke Boiteaux and her husband, Minus of Centerville; two stepsons, Timothy Luke of New Iberia; and George Luke of Franklin; three sisters, Eva LeBlanc, Roberta Treadway, and JoAnn Edwards; as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur Ruiz and Mable Ruiz; and a stepson, Brian Luke.
