ELWARD JOSEPH STEPHENS

August 9, 1924- June 2, 2016
Elward Joseph Stephens, 92, a resident of Stephensville, passed away Thursday, June 2, 2016, at his residence.
Elward was born Aug. 9, 1924, the son of Gilbert Stephens and Alizna Stephens. He loved gardening and fishing. He was in the United States Army Infirmary and was a World War II hero.
He will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife, Olive Boudreaux Stephens; one son, Mark A. Stephens and wife, Dana; three brothers, Elliot Stephens and wife, Ashley Stephens and wife, and Wilson Stephens and wife; and one sister, Louella Dupre Stephens. Elward also leaves behind numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and lots of friends.
Elward was preceded in death by his parents; and two sons, Glen A. Stephens and Gary J. Stephens.
He has donated his body to science, so there will be no services.
