Chamber education dinner Thursday
16th Judicial District Attorney M. Bofil Duhe’ and his staff will host the Chamber’s annual Education Appreciation Dinner at the Patterson Civic Center Thursday at 6 p.m. Each year the District Attorney’s office requests help from Chamber members to support the Charlie Roe Chamber Scholarship Fund. All money from the auction goes directly to the scholarship fund. A student from each high school in the parish has a chance to be the recipient. Charlene Gaddis, daughter of the late Charlie Roe, is the scholarship chairman and along with her committee chooses the scholarship winners. South Central Louisiana Technical College, Young Memorial Campus, donated the barbecue pit pictured for the auction to be held at the dinner. Young Memorial and the Chamber have partnered together over the years to help the businesses in St. Mary Parish get our workforce trained and ready to work. From top left are Anthony Baham, campus dean; Sheila Hue, campus coordinator; Donna Meyer, Chamber president, and Eugina Price, chamber finance director.
