Late surge lifts
Crawdaddy’s past TrimCo
Crawdaddy’s Seafood erupted for seven runs combined in its last two at-bats en route to a 7-3 victory in Swampland baseball action at Patterson Tuesday.
Trailing 1-0 heading into the top of the sixth, Crawdaddy’s scored three runs in the top of the frame for a 3-1 advantage.
While TrimCo Millwork and Supply tied the score at 3 in the bottom of the sixth, Crawdaddy’s responded with four runs in the top of the seventh.
TrimCo Millwork left the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh.
“I thought we competed much better last night,” TrimCo Millwork head coach Ryan Jensen said. “We had a good start on the mound from Jamey Fabre and made some nice defensive plays behind him early, which I think gave us some confidence and set the tone for the night.”
TrimCo Millwork used four pitchers, and Jensen said he thought they did a good job. However, he said Crawdaddy’s strung together some solid swings in the final two innings. TrimCo Millwork made two mistakes with “pitch location” in the final two innings and Crawdaddy’s got big hits with runners on base.
“I was proud of us for tying it back up in the (sixth) and giving ourselves a chance in the bottom of the (seventh),” Jensen said. “You always want to win, but I think with this group, our bigger concern is finding that effort each and every night we play.”
Offensively, Brad Beaubouef led TrimCo Millwork with a 2-for-3 performance with a double, a triple and two RBIs. Other top offensive contributors included Christian Soria, 1-for-1, a double; Matt Dardeau, 1-for-3, an RBI; Joel Singleton, 1-for-2; and Jamey Fabre, 1-for-3.
Christian Soria suffered the loss for TrimCo Millwork.
TrimCo Millwork (1-7) will return to action Thursday when it travels to face Synergy Bank (E.D. White). Junior varsity action is set for a 3:30 p.m. start with varsity to follow at 5:30 p.m.
