More rain Sunday's forecast; flash flood advisories in effect

Heavy rain is in the forecast for the Tri-City area today.

The National Weather Service forecast says there’s a 90 percent chance of heavy rain today. An additional 2 to 6 inches of rain is expected in some portions of south Louisiana.

The rain chances diminish to 40 percent tonight.

A flash flood warning for St. Mary was set to expire at 8 a.m. A flash flood watch remains in effect until 7 p.m.

One road closure is being reported in St. Mary Parish, on La. 317 at milepost 3.
