All artists invited to join 53rd Judged Show and Sale

All artists are invited to participate in the 53rd Annual Judged Art Show and Sale, hosted by Artists Guild Unlimited, in conjunction with The 81st Louisiana Shrimp and Petroleum Festival. The exhibit opens to the public Aug. 31 and runs through Sept. 2.
The show offers various classifications: Oils; Acrylics; Water Media; Pastels; Mixed Media; All Other, including sculpture, clay; and Photography, Black and White, Color, All Other, including mechanically altered.
Adults, 18 and over, Teens, 13-17, and Children I, 2-7 years old, and Children II, 7-12 years old are the categories, with cash awards in each and ribbons in all categories. All adult work must be offered for sale, and only teen and child entries may be not for sale.
You may register for the show 1-4 p.m. Aug. 24-25, 1-7 p.m. Aug. 26 and 9 a.m.-noon Aug. 27.
Entry fees for active Artists Guild Unlimited members are $15 for the first three entries and $5 each for the next three entries.
Associate and nonguild members pay $30 per first three entries and $10 each per next three entries. Teens And children pay only $6 per artist, three entries maximum. A 20 percent commission on all art sales is collected by AGU. Profits go toward awarding of an annual scholarship for a graduating senior in St. Mary Parish who will major in Art. AGU is a 501 (c) (3) organization.

Entry forms may be obtained from any AGU member or picked up at Everett Street Gallery, 201 Everett St., across from the Morgan City Hall, during hours of operation: 1-4 p.m. Wednesdays through Fridays and 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturdays. Call the gallery at 985-385-9945 during these hours.

Purchase Award
Patron Program
The Artists Guild Unlimited Purchase Award Patron Program is open to anyone — individuals, businesses or groups — who contributes a minimum of $50, and that amount is applied to their choice of art work at a private reception, prior to public opening of the show.
The 53rd Annual Artists Guild Unlimited Labor Day Show and Sale is one of the largest in the South and attracts artists from the local area, throughout the state and beyond.
Cash awards are a great incentive to the artists to participate.
AGU was honored as the St. Mary Parish nonprofit organization in 2014 and has a 501c3 designation for tax purposes.
It offers a gallery, art classes, and workshops, as well as a scholarship each year to a graduating senior who will be an art major.

The AGU hosts the show in its Everett Street Gallery, 201 Everett Street in downtown Morgan City across from City Hall, and the exhibit runs from Aug. 31 until Sept 4.
