Head Start will resume Aug. 25

Chief Executive Officer Almetra J. Franklin reported that St. Mary-Vermilion CAA Head Start staff will host a meet and greet at the following Head Start Centers prior to the official first day of school.
The schedule will be as follows:
Meet and greet: Parents and children are invited to visit the center to see the classroom and early childhood environment prepared for learning that the child will experience for the 2016-2017 school year.
St. Mary Parish Centers will open on Monday from 9-11 a.m. and 1-3 p.m.
There is also a parent session that is mandatory in order for a child to attend the Head Start program.
—Aug. 22: West End Centers, 5 p.m., at Broussard Harris Recreation Center, Franklin.
—Aug. 23: East End Centers, 5 p.m., Patterson Civic Center.
The first official day of school is Aug. 25 for St. Mary Centers.
