DONALD JAMES 'DONNIE' JUMONVILLE

Funeral services for Donald James Jumonville will be held Monday, Sept. 12, 2016, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Patterson during an 11 a.m. Memorial Mass of Christian burial. Inurnment will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery Mausoleum. The Rev. Herb Bennerfield will be the Celebrant for the Mass and conduct the services.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Monday at Ibert’s Mortuary in Patterson from 8 a.m. until time of dismissal at 10:40 a.m.
Donnie, as he was affectionately called, was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend to many. He was born in Morgan City and spent his entire life residing in Patterson.
Donnie was a hardworking and devoted family man who absolutely adored his grandchildren. He was also a very generous and selfless person who would help anyone in need. He passed away at the age of 65 on Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2016, at Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City. He will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Celeste Jones Jumonville; two daughters, Donette Jumonville Freeman and her husband Shannon, and Jackie Lynn Jumonville and Timothy Soudelier; four grandchildren, Blake Joseph Chaisson, Emily Claire Kimball, Brittany Freeman Chelette and Brendan Freeman; two great-grandchildren, Charlie Dale Chelette and Chloe Sue Chelette; his mother, Alda Mae Aucoin Jumonville; five siblings, Charles Jumonville, Glenn Jumonville, Jeanne Jumonville Ortte, Kenneth Jumonville, and Christopher Jumonville; brother-in-law, Jack Jones Jr.; sister-in-law, Daisy Jones Boudreaux; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Ray Jumonville; his brother, David Jumonville; and his parents-in-law, Jack Jones Sr. and Margaret Jones.
