CCHS goes 0-2 at HLB tournament this weekend

Central Catholic finished 0-2 at H.L. Bourgeois’ tournament this weekend, falling to a pair of Division 1 schools, St. Amant and Hahnville.
St. Amant, a Division 1 quarterfinalist a year ago, defeated the Lady Eagles 2-1 (17-25, 25-21, 11-15).
Katie Hoffpauir led Central Catholic with 17 assists, one ace, one dig and one block assist. Other top contributors included Hallie Autin, three kills, one ace, eight digs and two solo blocks; Yani Johnson, five kills and two solo blocks; Brooke Lipari, one kill and six digs; and Taylor Picou, two solo blocks.
Against Hahnville, Central Catholic fell 2-0 (25-17, 25-9).
Autin led Central Catholic with five kills and eight digs. Other top contributors included Hoffpauir, 10 assists and two digs; Johnson, five kills and one solo block; Lipari, five digs; and Rebecca David, two blocks and one block assist.
Central Catholic (8-5) will return to action today when it travels to face Catholic High-Pointe Coupee. Catholic High was a Division V quarterfinalist a year ago.
