Funeral services for Rita Mae White will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2016, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Morgan City. Mrs. White passed away at the age of 94 on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016. She will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery Mausoleum. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 10 a.m. Tuesday until time of service at Holy Cross.
Serving as pallbearers will be David Sevin, Allen Ray Sevin, Barton Blanco, Joey Templet, Chris Turner and Kent Owens.
Mrs. White was preceded in death by her parents, Aubare Joseph Templet and Lucille Simoneaux Templet; three brothers, Allen Templet, Ray Templet and Russell Templet; and one sister, Mrs. Alberta Sevin. Also preceding her in death was her husband, Burl Anthony White; and a great-grandson, Christopher Claude Turner.
Survivors include her two sons, Byron Anthony White and wife Carol of Ruston and Michael Lee White of Morgan City; her daughter, Peggy Ann Teague of Bossier City; two grandchildren, Lisa Michele Owens and husband Kent of Dubach, and Nancy Lynn Turner and husband Chris of Ruston; four great-grandchildren, Gabriella Lea Turner, Aimee Michele Turner, Lyla Christine Turner and Mason Hunt Turner; and a host of nieces and nephews.
