ROBERT ALONZO TAYLOR JR.

Robert Alonzo Taylor Jr., 86, a resident of Morgan City, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 11, 2016, in his home, surrounded by loved ones.
He was born Nov. 1, 1930, in Williamston, North Carolina, the son of Robert A. Taylor Sr. and Mary Magdalene Keel Taylor.
Robert settled in Morgan City, where he would meet his adoring wife of 62 years. He enjoyed reading, watching sports, and music. His passion for music led him to sing with the Morgan City Tuneweavers and the choir at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Robert retired from Vida Paint & Supply Inc. of Morgan City after more than 30 years of service. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend that will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He is sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife, Frances Grizzaffi Taylor of Morgan City; son, Mark Taylor and wife Brownie of Morgan City; daughters, Lori Cronier of Morgan City and Ann Taylor of Franklin; brothers, James Taylor and Eddie Taylor; sisters, Eleanor Carroll, Betty Coburn and Kay Wallace; and grandchildren, Erin Taylor, Brittany Bogan and husband Kevin, Meredith Taylor, and Erika Cronier.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Robert A. Taylor Sr. and Mary Magdalene Keel Taylor; sisters, Lois Smith, Tess Ward, Sarah Bryant and Mary Madelyn Williams; and brother, Benny Taylor.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2016, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church beginning at 10 a.m. Visitation will be held from 8 a.m. until service time at church. Robert will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Mausoleum following Mass.
