Morgan City man booked on obscenity charge

A 30-year-old Morgan City man was arrested Friday for exposing his genitals to a female victim, Morgan City Police Chief James Blair said in a news release.

—Michael H. Delee , 30, of Florence Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 2:43 p.m. Friday on a charge for obscenity.

Officers responded to the area of Allison Street.

According to reports, the victim stated that she was walking in the area when a vehicle pulled up next to her. The driver made a comment and pointed to his exposed genitals. A description of the driver and vehicle were given out.

Officers were able to locate the vehicle on Florence Street. The driver, Delee was questioned about the incident. Delee was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Blair reported the following arrests:

— Ivis J. Gaudet, 63, of Brothers Street in Amelia, was arrested at midnight Friday on a charge of driving while intoxicated first offense and careless operation.

Officers responded to the area of Sixth and Terrebonne streets in regard to a hit and run vehicle crash. Officers arrived and noticed that a fire hydrant was damage.

A description of the vehicle was given and officers were able to locate the vehicle parked at a residence. The driver of the vehicle, identified as Gaudet, was asked to exit the vehicle.

According to reports, Gaudet stated he had crashed into the hydrant. While speaking to Gaudet, officers could smell a strong odor of alcoholic beverage on his breath.

Gaudet performed poorly on the Standardized Field Sobriety Test. Gaudet was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department.

Once at the police department, Gaudet submitted to the chemical test for intoxication. Gaudet’s results yielded a .089 grams percent of blood alcohol content. Gaudet was booked and incarcerated.

—Jason Myers, 41, of Second Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 9:06 p.m. Friday on a warrant for telephone harassment.

Myers was located at his residence. A warrants check was done on Myers and it was determined that he held an active warrant for the Morgan City Police Department.

Myers was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

—Hector S. Ruiz, 35, of Shivers Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 10:26 p.m. Friday on the charges of possession of Hydrocodone and Gabapentin and a stop sign violation.

A patrol officer in the area of La. 182 near Grizzaffi Street observed a vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign.

A vehicle stop was conducted and the driver, Ruiz, was asked to produce a valid driver’s license. Ruiz appeared nervous, which made the officer suspicious that he might be involved in illegal drug activity.

Officers were given consent to search the vehicle. Officers located pills identified as Hydrocodone and Gabapentin. Ruiz was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

—August L. Turner Jr., 56, of La. 182 in Morgan City, was arrested at 2:40 a.m. Saturday on the charges of headlights required, driving under suspension and no insurance.

A patrol officer in the area of 11th Street and Railroad Avenue observed a vehicle with improper lighting. A vehicle stop was conducted and the driver, Turner, was asked to produce a valid driver’s license.

A computer check revealed that Turner’s driver’s license was suspended. Turner was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

—David Martinez, 53, of Railroad Avenue in Morgan City, was arrested at 4:44 a.m. Saturday on the charge of resisting an officer and a warrant for failure to pay fines two counts.

—Joseph Martinez, 43, of John Street in Berwick, was arrested at 4:44 a.m. Saturday on the charge of resisting an officer.

Officers located David Martinez and Joseph Martinez in the area of Duke Street. When officers approached, both men began to flee on foot. They were apprehended a short time later.

A warrants check was conducted on both and it was determined that David Martinez held an active warrant for the 6th Ward City Court.

Both David Martinez and Joseph Martinez were placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

—Alejandro C. Bastida , 33, of Jones Street in Berwick, was arrested at 5:51 a.m. Saturday on charges of possession of cocaine and violation of uniform controlled dangerous substance drug free zone.

Officers responded to a residence on Sixth Street in regard to a disturbance. Officers arrived and noticed several individuals outside the residence.

One of the individuals, identified as Bastida, appeared to be snorting a substance. Officers approached Bastida and located suspected cocaine.

Bastida was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

—Victoria Stephens, 24, of Glenwood Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 9:30 p.m. Saturday on a warrant for failure to appear with St. Mary Sheriff’s Office.

Stephens was located on Roderick Street. A warrants check was conducted on Stephens and it was determined that she held an active warrant for the 16th Judicial District Court. Stephens was booked and incarcerated.

—Gregory J. Gros, 54, of Levee Highway in Pierre Part, was arrested at 2:29 a.m. Saturday on the charges of driving while intoxicated first offense and no headlights.

A patrol officer in the area of Aycock Street and La. 182 observed a vehicle with improper lighting. A vehicle stop was conducted and the driver, Gros , was asked to produce a valid driver’s license.

While speaking to Gros, the officer observed an odor of alcoholic beverage emitting from his breath. Gros was asked to perform the Standardized Field Sobriety Test, on which he performed poorly.

Gros was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department. Once at the police department, Gros submitted to the chemical test for intoxication. Gros ’ results yielded a .099 grams-percent of blood alcohol content.

Gros was booked and incarcerated.

— Caston Malveaux, 60, of Signe Street in Patterson, was arrested at 1:28 a.m. Sunday on the charges of driving while intoxicated first offense and headlights required.

—Donna M. Davidson, 57, of Freret Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 1:28 a.m. Sunday on a warrant for theft under $750.

A patrol officer in the area of 11th Street and La. 182 observed a vehicle with only one functioning headlight. A vehicle stop was conducted and the driver, Malveaux, was asked to produce a valid driver’s license.

While speaking with Malveaux, the officer could smell an odor of alcoholic beverage emitting from his breath. The Standardized Field Sobriety Test was conducted on Malveaux and he performed poorly.

Malveaux was placed under arrest. The passenger in the vehicle, identified as Davidson, was asked to exit the vehicle. A warrants check was done on Davidson and it was determined that she held an active warrant for the Morgan City Police Department.

Both Malveaux and Davidson were transported to the Morgan City Police Department. Once at the police department, Malveaux submitted to the chemical test for intoxication. Malveaux’s results yielded a .140 grams-percent of blood alcohol content. Both were booked and incarcerated.

—Pamela Reed, 57, of Roderick Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 9:29 p.m. Sunday on a charge for theft of goods.

Officers were dispatched to a local business on Brashear Avenue in regard to a shoplifter management had detained. Reports indicate employees witnessed Reed conceal an item and tried to leave the store without paying.

Reed was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

—Darien L. Keller, 23, of La. 87 in Charenton, was arrested at 9:21 p.m. Sunday on a charge of possession of marijuana.

Officers responded to a local business on La. 182 in regard to an employee having suspected marijuana in his possession. Officers arrived and located Keller. Keller consented to officers to search his person.

Officers located suspected marijuana on Keller. Keller was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

—Brennan J. Foreman, 24, of Susan Court in Morgan City, was arrested at 10:04 p.m. Sunday on the charges of criminal damage to property and warrants for failure to pay probation fee and failure to pay fines.

Officers responded to a residence on Allison Street in regard to damage to property. Officers arrived and spoke to the witness who stated that Foreman damaged his girlfriend’s vehicle.

Officers located Foreman on Third Street and reports indicate he admitted to damaging the vehicle. Foreman also held active warrants for the 6th Ward City Court.

Foreman was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

—Michael J. Stiles, 37, of Aucoin Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 11:01 p.m. Sunday on warrants for driving under suspension, attempted theft under $750 and criminal trespass.

Stiles was located at his residence. A warrants check was done on Stiles and it was determined that he held active warrants for the Morgan City Police Department.

Stiles was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported responding to 127 complaints and reported the following arrests in east St. Mary Parish:

—Two juvenile girls, 15 and 16, both of Patterson, were arrested at 10:42 p.m. Friday on a charge of disturbing the peace fighting.

—Erykah Singleton, 17, of Tall Timbers Drive in Patterson, was arrested at 10:42 p.m. Friday on a charge of disturbing the peace fighting.

A deputy responded to a report of a fight that occurred in the Patterson High School parking lot.

During the investigation, the deputy gathered evidence that the two juveniles and Singleton engaged in a physical altercation resulting from an ongoing argument. The two juveniles were released to their guardians.

Singleton was released on a summons to appear in court March 8.

—Blaise Crane, 22, of Southeast Boulevard in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 11:18 p.m. Saturday for domestic abuse battery.

—Justin Stratton, 27, of Southeast Boulevard in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 12:28 p.m. Saturday for domestic abuse battery and simple criminal damage to property.

A deputy responded to a report of a fight at a residence in Bayou Vista.

The deputy found evidence that Stratton and Crane were involved in an argument when Stratton swung his fist at Crane, missed, and struck a window of the residence, breaking it.

The two then began fighting. Both subjects were transported to the parish jail for booking. Bail is set at $2,750 for Stratton. No bail is set for Crane.

—Kenneth Benoit, 35, of Teddy Street in Pierre Part, was arrested at 3:31 a.m. Saturday on a charge of criminal mischief.

A deputy responded to a report of a suspicious person on Jupiter Street in Bayou Vista. The deputy located a male subject lying on the floorboard of a truck parked near the complainant’s residence.

The deputy also located a glove and folding knife belonging to Benoit on the side of the residence. Following the investigation, Benoit was released on a summons to appear in court March 8.

—Ryan Gaudet, 19, of Paige Lane in Pierre Part, was arrested at 3:35 a.m. Saturday for careless operation of a motor vehicle and possession of open alcoholic beverages in motor vehicles.

—Regan Nohra , 22, of Shell Beach Road in Pierre Part, was arrested at 3:35 a.m. Saturday on charges of possession of open alcoholic beverages in motor vehicles and unlawful purchase of alcoholic beverages by persons on behalf of persons under 21.

A deputy patrolling the Calumet area observed a vehicle spin out of control on U.S. 90. The driver then continued to travel on the roadway.

The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Gaudet, and two passengers, one identified as Nohra .

While speaking with the occupants, the deputy received consent to search the vehicle and located open containers of beer. Nohra admitted to the deputy that she purchased the alcohol for Gaudet.

Both subjects were released on summonses to appear in court March 8.

—Ryan Bowman, 21, of Jupiter Street in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 9:50 a.m. Sunday on a warrant from the City Court of Morgan City for failure to attend and complete a court ordered program.

—Wesley Rink, 21, of Bayou Boeuf Road in Amelia, was arrested at 9:54 a.m. Sunday on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

A deputy went to Bowman’s residence to serve the warrant. While there, the deputy observed Bowman and Rink pull into the driveway. Bowman was advised of the warrant and was taken into custody.

The deputy also spoke with Rink and located an active warrant for his arrest. Both subjects were transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported the following arrests:

—Wynn Whitehurst, 41, of Fairview Drive in Berwick, was arrested at 12:10 p.m. Friday on a warrant with St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office for failure to appear for trial. Whitehurst remains jailed. No bail is set.

—Jose Miriles, 23, of Third Street in Berwick, was arrested at 8:28 p.m. Sunday on the charge of simple battery domestic abuse. Miriles remains jailed. No bail is set.

—Rigoberto Barrios, of Glenwood Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 7:39 p.m. Sunday on the charges of hit and run driving, no driver’s license, switched license plate, and careless operation of a vehicle with a crash.

Barrios remains jailed. No bail is set.

Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported no arrests.
