ALICE LILE LAKE

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2014, at a 10 a.m., graveside service in the Presbyterian Cemetery in Centerville for Alice Lile Lake, 78, a native and lifelong resident of Verdunville, who passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2014, at Franklin Foundation Hospital. The Rev. Bobby Hodnett will officiate the service.
Ms. Alice was a woman of strong Christian faith who loved the Baptist Church and listening to gospel music. Her favorite pastime was tending to and enjoying her flower garden. Many will remember her from her many years working as a telephone operator for the phone company in Franklin.
Survivors include one son, Mark Wayne Lake; two sisters, Janet Smith and Shirley Arnold and her husband, Edward; two stepdaughters, Peggy Patrick and Beverly Stone; devoted friends, Nell Hopkins and Gloria Marcotte; a devoted niece, Karen Smith Theriot; as well as numerous other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Wayne Lake Sr.; her parents, Ernest Lile Sr. and Bessie Cecilia Burns Lile; two brothers, Ernest Lile Jr. and Taylor “Tootsie” Lile; and one stepson, Edward Wayne Lake Jr.
The family would like to express their sincerest appreciation to Dr. McPherson, Dr. Tessi and the staff of Franklin Foundation Hospital for the loving and compassionate care given to Alice.
