AVERIST ARMELIN
The Life of Averist Armelin will be celebrated during a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, August 8, 2015, at 11 a.m., at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Baldwin. Viewing will begin at 9 a.m., and continue until the time of service at the church. The rosary will be prayed at 10 a.m. Fr. Sonnier will be the celebrant.
He will be interred in Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church Cemetery.
Musical selections will be provided by Brenda Hatcherson Prejean and Patsy Jones.
Averist Armelin went on to eternal rest on August 1, 2015, surrounded by loved ones. He was 54 years old. Averist was the son of the late Julian Armelin and Lillie Gabriel. He was a native and resident of Baldwin and was educated in the St. Mary Parish School System. He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church.
Left to cherish fond memories is his loving companion, Latasha Burden of Baldwin; three sons, Averine Henry of Franklin, Everist Francis of Four Corners and Devonte Burden of Ashton; one sister, Judy (Donald) Rideaux of Baldwin; two brothers, Anthony Armelin of New Iberia and Wayne Armelin of Jeanerette; also two aunts, Joyce Rainey and Theresa Rubin; one uncle, Clarence Griffin Sr.; a very devoted and loyal niece, Shira Rideaux; a very devoted step-niece, Quantaneka Burden; eight grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Averist was preceded in death by his parents, and one son, Kedrin Guilbeau.
Active pallbearers will be Wayne Armelin Sr., Douglas Caesar Jr., Mitchell Hudson, Antonio Campbell, Dandrick Jack, and Renee Fleming.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Anthony Armelin, Wayne Armelin Jr., Kendrick Mitchell, Averine Henry, Everist Francis, Tony Rideaux and Devante Burden.
