Barbara Castille
NEW IBERIA — Funeral services will be conducted for Mrs. Larry Castille, the former Barbara Chauvin, 68, at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 1, 2014, at David Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Paul Neel officiating. Private interment will be at a later date.
Visitation will be from 5 to 10 p.m. Wednesday April 30, 2014, and resume on Thursday, May 1, 2014, at 8 a.m. until service.
A native of Franklin and a resident of New Iberia, Barbara passed away Saturday, April 26, 2014, at 8:10 p.m. in a New Iberia hospital. She was an avid New Orleans Saints fan; she worked as a typesetter for the Franklin Banner Tribune and the Morgan City Review. Her hobbies included making scented candles, ceramics and painting.
She is survived by her husband of 13 years, Larry Castille of New Iberia; daughter, Kim Chauvin Hernandez and her husband, James, of Houma; stepsons, Jamie Castille and Matt Castille, both of St. Martinville; brother, Daniel Chauvin and his companion, Lil, of Jennings; sisters, Gloria Hebert of Bayou Vista, Carol Breaux of Baton Rouge, and Kerry Fromenthal and her husband, Ronald, of Gonzales; five grandchildren; mother-in-law, Theresa Melancon; sisters-in-law, Cheryl Blanchard, Tina Melancon, Sandy Pourciaux, Lauren Castille, Theresa Melancon and Mary Melancon; and brothers-in-law, Jody Castille, Sal Melanson Jr., Russell Castille and Joe Melancon.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Allie and Annie Seymore Chauvin Sr.; stepfather, Clifton McKinley; sisters, Wanda Lee Sauce and Lois Hebert; and brother, Allie Chauvin Jr.
Serving as pallbearers will be family and friends.
