BETTY ANN ‘SHA’ MAXILE

St. Martinville - A Homegoing Celebration will be held for Mrs. Betty Ann “Sha” Maxile, 72, the former Betty Ann Washington at 11 a.m., Saturday, December 12, 2015 at House of Love Ministries with Pastor Oscar Gray Jr. officiating.
Interment will be in Mount Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery in Charenton.
A gathering of family and friends will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday at the church until time of funeral services.
A resident of New Iberia, she passed at 6:20 a.m., Sunday, December 6, 2015 at Iberia Extended Care Hospital.
She was a faithful member of House of Love Ministries. In addition, she was employed by the St. Mary Parish Community Action Agency as a cafeteria technician and bus driver.
She leaves to mourn her passing, one daughter, Kesha (Minister Justin) Miller of New Iberia; and one son, Terry (Naniqua) Washington of Baldwin; one sister, Bettye Davis of Lindenwold, NJ.; two brothers, E.J. Washington of Tallahassee, FL and Larry (Luada) Washington of Jeanerette; one grandchild, Jurney Miller of New Iberia; three step-grandchildren, Joynique Phillips, Courtland Phillips and Kobe Phillips of Baldwin; two godchildren, Lawanda Yvette Mitchell and Curtis Lee Shields; a devoted cousin, Ms. Margie Mitchell; a devoted caregiver, Ms. Patsy Scott; and a dear friend, Ms. Hester Jones; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl Washington and Mildred Shields Washington and one brother, Leonard Washington.
Active pallbearers will be Jason Dwyer, Antoine Prince, Karl Washington, Ray Manuel, Larry Lancelin and Rodney Jack.
Honorary pallbearers will be Minister Justin Miller, Larry Washington, Terry Washington, Curtis Lee Shields, Deacon Donavon Chevalier, Deacon Andrew Menard,
