BILLYE CAROLYN MAGEE GRICE

Billye Carolyn Magee Grice, 86, a native of Brookhaven, Mississippi, and longtime resident of Morgan City, passed away peacefully Thursday, Sept. 29, 2016, in River Ridge, Louisiana, with her family at her bedside.
Billye filled her life with joy in her home and family, worked tirelessly alongside her husband in his photography business, read voraciously, and was a joy to all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, O.B. Magee and Flora Smith Magee Wooten (Brookhaven); husband, Jesse Thomas Grice; granddaughter, Elizabeth Lynn Daspit; and cherished companion, Joe Baker.
Billye leaves to celebrate her life her children, Jenny Tagert (New Orleans), Jesse Thomas “Tom” Grice Jr. (Dallas), and Janie Grice (Collingwood, Ontario, Canada); her grandchildren, Jessica Moore and husband Kevin (Abita Springs, Louisiana), Tom Daspit and wife Kelly (Birmingham, Alabama), and Joanna Tagert and husband Robbie Cluck (San Francisco); along with her great-grandchildren, McKae, Jace and Miley Moore and Aanae, Evan and Pippa Daspit; and her sister, Betsy Magee Brown and husband Michael K. Brown (New Orleans).
A private inurnment will take place in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Covington. Memorial gifts may be made to the River Road Historical Society, P.O. Box 5, Destrehan, LA 70047.
