A Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, June 21, 2014, at 11 a.m., at the Church of the Assumption for Brenda Kay Boozer Henson, 62, a former resident of Franklin and has lived in New Iberia for the past five years, who passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at 5:37 p.m., at LSU University Center in Shreveport. She will be laid to rest in the Franklin Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Red Landry, Joey Landry, Trent Clements, Keith Hebert, Richard Pharris and Brent Robicheaux. Fr. Michael Russo will officiate the services.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Friday at Ibert’s Mortuary from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m., with the rosary being prayed at 7 p.m. Visitation will resume Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Church of Assumption until service time.
Brenda was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many; she will be greatly missed by all. Brenda loved spending her time sharing the Word of God with her Come Lord Jesus Bible study group; she was a member of the Catholic Daughters and was a lector for The Church of the Assumption.
Survivors include one son, Robert L. Henson and his wife, Lori; one granddaughter, Rebekah “Bekah” Henson; one brother, R. Gordon Boozer and his wife, Kay; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Henson; her parents, William and Rita Seward Boozer; one sister, Sharon Boozer Bruno and one brother, Stephen Boozer.
