CARMELITA ‘DANNIE’ FERGUSON

Ms. Carmelita “Dannie” Ferguson, 40, a resident and native of Franklin, died Saturday, April 12, 2014, at 3:42 a.m., on the Franklin Junior High school grounds resulting from an automobile accident.
She is survived by mother, Ms. Linda Delasbour of Franklin; two daughters, Tarjanay Stansbury and Tajolyn Stansbury, both of Franklin; four brothers, Marvin Simmons of Jeanerette, Mark Jones, Curtis Williams and Ray Granger, all of Franklin; sisters, Mrs. Faith Sha’Tara Matthews of Lafayette, Miss Marnell Denise Ferguson of Duson, Mrs. DeAngles Freeman of Franklin and Ms. Jamie Spain of Killeen, Texas; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends; and maternal grandmother, Mrs. Beulah Mae Ferguson of Franklin.
Ms. Carmelita was preceded in death by her father, maternal grandfather and paternal grandparents.
Visitations will be observed Saturday, April 26, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the New Mount Horeb Baptist Church, 3040 Irish Bend Rd. in the Oaklawn Community.
Burial rites will be read Saturday, at 1 p.m., at New Mount Horeb Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Oaklawn Cemetery on Irish Bend Road.
The Otis Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of preparations.
