CASS JAMES OUBRE

February 7, 1966- January 30, 2017
Cass James Oubre, 50, a resident of Berwick, went home to be with the Lord on Jan. 30, 2017, surrounded by his loving family.
Cass was born Feb. 7, 1966, in New Iberia, the son of Claude Oubre and Andrea Fields Pyle.
Cass was a very family-oriented man, as he was a faithful husband and a loving father who was very involved in his children’s lives. He was a man of great integrity; a gentleman, honest, loving and friendly to all. Cass was a Godly man who not only talked the talk but walked the walk. He was a true example of a loving husband, father, son, grandson, brother and nephew.
Cass often times thought of himself as a great singer, so he loved to show his children how well he could sing, by acting goofy and singing to them at home. He was a faithful member of Bethel Pentecostal Fellowship. Cass worked for Ralow Services in Amelia for 33 years, starting when he was 16 years old. A true servant of God, Cass will be missed by all who knew him.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by the love of his life, Allison Fabre Oubre of Berwick; three children, Sarah Oubre, Grant Oubre and Luke Oubre, all of Berwick; his mother, Andrea Fields Pyle and husband Thomas E. Pyle of Denham Springs; one brother, Casey Oubre of Denham Springs; three sisters, Brandi Pyle and Heather Pyle, both of Denham Springs, and Christin Sundberg and husband Mike of New Iberia; and aunt, godmother and caregiver, Sheila Fields McFarland of Denham Springs.
Cass was preceded in death by his father, Claude Oubre; one brother, Thomas Jay Pyle; maternal grandparents, Tilden and Loraine Fields; and paternal grandparents, Antoine and Antoinette Oubre.
Active pallbearers will be Casey Oubre, Grant Oubre, Ron Abshire, Dwalyn Steele, Jean Junius and Andy Galy. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Fabre and Tom Pyle. Junior pallbearer is Luke Oubre.
A Celebration of Cass’ life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 4, 2017, at Bethel Pentecostal Fellowship with the Rev. Marty Harden officiating. A visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of the service with the burial following services in the Berwick Cemetery.
