Charles C. Phillips

Charles C. Phillips, born in Hattiesburg, Miss., and a resident of Orange Beach, Ala., Monday, May 12, 2014, at Mobile, Ala.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hollon and Arzella Phillips, and a grandson, J. Gary Lee Jr.
He leaves behind a loving and devoted wife of 58 years, Betty Barron Phillips; a son, Jimmy Phillips of Morgan City; his daughters, Sherry (Gary) Lee of Mobile, Ala., Cindy (Kenny) Michel of Morgan City, and Dena (Don) McKee of Dauphin, Ala.; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Arva Etta (Walt) Sylvester and Marie (Bob) Burge of Hattiesburg, Miss.; along with numerous nieces and nephews; and his extended church family.
He was a member of First Baptist Church of Orange Beach, Ala., the Jones County (Mississippi) Amateur Radio Club and the Bear Point Civic Association.
The family wishes to acknowledge the caring staff of Gentiva Home Health Services. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 15, 2014, from 1 to the 2 p.m. funeral hour at the Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Foley, Ala.. Interment will be held at Grantham Cemetery in Hattiesburg, Miss., with graveside services at 1 p.m. on Friday, May 16, 2014.
