CLARA MAE JOHNSON HURST

The Life of Clara Mae Johnson Hurst will be celebrated on Friday, July 3, 2015, 11 a.m., at First Church of God in Christ, 1901 Martin Luther King Dr., in Jeanerette. Pastor James Proctor will officiate the service.
Visitation will be Friday, July 3, from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
Born October 7, 1950 to the late Lawrence Johnson and Marie Greene. Mrs. Hurst passed away on June 23, 2015, at her residence. She was 64 years old.
Left to cherish many wonderful memories are her five daughters, Ellenor Joyce Hurst of Lafayette, Felecia Hurst of Jeanerette, Ayanna Hurst of New Iberia, Anissa Hurst Butts of Baytown, TX, and Resheeda Hurst of New Iberia; mother, Marie Green; five brothers, Don (Sherry) Johnson of Lafayette, Ken (Sharon) Johnson of Youngsville, Ananise (Margie) White of Franklin, Brian White of Baldwin and Samuel White of Coteau, LA; seven sisters; Cecilia Turner of St. Louis, MO, Beverly (Hozell) White of Houston, TX, Cynthia White Decuir of New Iberia, Barbara Johnson of Abbeville, Carolyn White of Jeanerette, Laura Johnson of Dallas, TX, and Dorothy Johnson, Coteau, TX; 15 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Hurst Jr.; one son, Asa Hurst; father, Lawrence Johnson; and one brother, Solomon White.
