Cora Wright Gautreaux

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2015, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 415 Union St., Morgan City, for Cora Wright Gautreaux, 91, who passed away at 9 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, 2015, at Lafayette General Medical Center.
The Rev. Greg Fratt, pastor of Sacred Heart Church, will conduct the memorial services.
Burial will take place in the Morgan City Cemetery.
Cora was the daughter of the late William and Eunice Bordelon Wright. She was lovingly raised by her late aunt and uncle, Rosa and Joe Evans, in Morgan City, where she spent most of her life. She spent her last years as a resident of Lafayette.
She is survived by her children, JoAnn Hebert and husband, Russell, Penny Russo, Dudley A. “Butch” Gautreaux Jr. and wife, Marilyn, Gail Fazzio and husband, Anthony “Tony,” Cora Phillips and husband, Keith, and Mary Gautreaux. Also surviving her are her 19 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Dudley A. Gautreaux Sr.; three sisters, Margaret Leon, Clothilde Meaux and Mary Perry; and one brother, William “Billy” Wright.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Morgan City Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2015, from 9 a.m. until time of service.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations be made in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memphis, TN or to EWTN, 5817 Old Leeds Road, Irondale, Al 35210-9948.
