DAISY MAE JACKSON METZ

Daisy Mae Jackson Metz, 67, a resident of the St. Joseph Community, died Monday April 6, 2015, at 9:06 p.m., at Thibodaux Regional Medical Center following a short illness.
Musical service is Friday, April 17, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Otis Mortuary Chapel.
Visitations will be observed Saturday, April 18, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., at Special Providence Baptist Church in Baldwin. Burial rites will be read Saturday, at 11 a.m., at that church, with the Rev. W.J. Otis officiating. Interment will follow in the Special Providence Cemetery.
Daisy spent a lifetime caring for the elderly while giving love and medical attention where it was needed. She had a love and passion for cooking, which led her to open her own restraunt, D&D Soulfood, which is located in St. Joseph.
Survivors include her father, Milton Davis of Jeanerette; two sons, Rufus (Sarah) Jackson Jr. and Delaney (Sue Ann) Jackson, both of Sioux City, IA; three daughters, Angelia Picard, Barbara Jackson and LaHouma Jackson, all of Franklin; four brothers, Melvin Davis and Kerry (Debbie) Davis, Robert and Rogers Gabriel, all of Franklin; five sisters, Vivian Matthews, Tammy D. Thomas and Maxine Randle, all of Franklin, Terry Dwyer of Jeanerette, and Sarah Gabriel of Baldwin; one uncle, Eugene Davis of Franklin; 41 grandchildren; and 22 great grandchildren, five Godchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Vivian Darby-Davis, her daughter Bridgett Jackson, both paternal grandparents: Jenny and Raymond Darby, Susie and Henry Davis, two sisters: Lorenza Ann Davis and Susie D. Parker, and a step-son Barry Metz.
The Otis Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of preparations.
