Demas “Donnie” LeBlanc

Demas “Donnie” LeBlanc, 78, a native of Jeanerette, a past resident of Berwick and Bayou Vista, and a resident of Morgan City, passed away Monday, Oct. 7, 2013, unexpectedly. 
The family requests that visitation be observed today, Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013, from 6 to 10 p.m. at Hargrave Funeral Home with a rosary being prayed at 7 p.m. Visitation will resume Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013, at 8 a.m. until time of dismissal at 9:30 a.m. at Hargrave Funeral Home. 
A Mass of Christian burial will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Morgan City with the Rev. Danny Poche officiating. Graveside services will follow in the St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery in Patterson with the East St. Mary Veteran’s Funeral Squad conducting military honors. 
Donnie is survived by his three loving children, Tamie Dufrene and her husband, Troy, of Bridge City, Mark LeBlanc Sr. and his wife, Wanda, of Stephensville, and Linda Ledet and her husband, Drake, of Thibodaux; his brother, Weakless LeBlanc Sr.; seven grandchildren, Crystal, Tai, Jana, Mark Jr., Kasey, Ashley and Rebecca; and 10 great-grandchildren, Sarah, Ethan, Chaz, Isabella, David, Vincent Jr., Kaia, Kameryn, and soon to be born twins, Caroline and Liberty. 
He was preceded in death by his first wife of 39 years and the mother of his children, Janice Mendoza LeBlanc; his second wife of 10 years, Betty LaCoste LeBlanc; his father, Dema LeBlanc; his mother, Camille Crochet LeBlanc; and his brother, L.J. Morvant.
Donnie served in the United States Army before starting his career in the oilfield industry until his retirement. Donnie had an immense love of life. His world revolved around his family, his friends, and his structured schedule. He loved dancing, shrimping, and especially sports. Donnie brightened lives with his outgoing and fun personality. Those who knew and loved him will forever keep his memory within their hearts.
