DENISE LAJAUNIE GROS

November 19, 1964-August 3, 2015
Mary Denise LaJaunie Gros, a longtime resident of Amelia, passed away Monday, Aug. 3, 2015, at the age of 50. A friend to everyone and an enemy to none, her impact will forever be felt.
Denise was an amazing woman, wife, mother, daughter, sister, “nana” and friend. She was the rock behind her family and helped make their dreams come true. Denise adored her family, especially her five “little monkeys.” Her greatest pride was her five grandchildren. She opened her door to many and loved to feed the soul. She was an artistic writer of music with a powerful heart. She cared for so many and helped others selflessly. Denise was an avid Saints fan and a true “Who Dat.”
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 33 years, Tommy G; her three children, Brittany Gros Gilmore and her husband, Terry Jr., of Morgan City, T.J. Gros and his wife, Heather, of Broussard, and Jarred Gros and his companion, Ramona Johnson, of Amelia; her father, Herman LaJaunie Jr. of Thibodaux; three sisters, Angela Fabre and her husband, Jan, of Berwick, Christine Castille and her husband, Greg, of Thibodaux, and Kelly LaJaunie and her companion, Curtis White, of Berwick; and her five grandchildren, Leah, Sport Thomas, Olivia, Eli and Trey.
She joins in Heaven her mother, JoAnne LeRay LaJaunie, and her grandparents.
The family requests that visitation be observed today, Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2015, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 7 p.m. at Hargrave Funeral Home. Visitation will resume Thursday, Aug. 6, 2015, from 8 a.m. until the time of Mass at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian burial will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart. Denise will be laid to rest in the Berwick Cemetery.
