DORETHA 'DEE' SIMONEAUX

November 2, 1932-June 25, 2015
As a family, we want to thank our Heavenly Father for the life of Doretha “Dee” Simoneaux. Early this morning, June 25, 2015, she joined our earthly father, Roy, in the eternal presence of Jesus Christ.
Doretha was born Nov. 2, 1932, to Edes and Pearl David, in Abbeville, Louisiana.
Mom worked as a telephone operator in New Orleans, where she met Dad. After her children were raised, she became a bookkeeper at Morgan City Bank, from which she retired.
Mom was a seasoned traveler and kept meticulous journals. You could relive the many trips by looking at the pictures with their well-written captions. But, her greatest joy was to take care of and be surrounded by her family. She also loved listening to her country music channel, Come Lord Jesus meetings, and working at Sacred Heart Catholic Church as a member of the Grievance Committee. Even though mom could not bake, her cooking was enjoyed by many, especially her Crab Dip.
Doretha will be remembered by her sister, Beverly (husband Floyd) Harrington; children, Michael (wife Nita) Simoneaux, Bonnye (husband Jim) Livesay, David (wife Kelly) Simoneaux, and Tessie (husband John) DuBois; grandchildren, Kassi (husband Seth) Harrington, Jesse (wife Britteny) Simoneaux, Raymond (wife Stephanie) Leonard, Cody Simoneaux, Chase Simoneaux, Colton Simoneaux, Phillip Livesay, Clinton (wife Amber) Livesay, Chadd (wife Ashley) DuBois, and Jacob DuBois; great-grandchildren, Ava Harrington, Kate Harrington, Kason Simoneaux, Caleb Simoneaux, Devin Livesay, Kayley Livesay, Dylann Livesay, Dean Livesay, Tristen Leonard, Raymond Leonard Jr., Kailey Benoit, Kaiden Arceneaux, Bray’Lynn Paul, Riley DuBois, and Kinzley DuBois; brother-in-law, Philip (wife Carol) Simoneaux; and sisters-in-law, Katy (husband Huey) Simoneaux, Mary Francis, and Joyce Simoneaux.
Mom will also be missed by the many friends she made at the Maison Jardin Senior Living Community. Thank you to all the workers who filled her day with joy.
A time of remembrance will be held Monday, June 29, 2015, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Hargrave Funeral Home, resuming Tuesday, June 30, 2015, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart. Doretha will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Mausoleum.
