DOROTHY MAE LEWIS

Dorothy Mae Lewis, 83, a native and a resident of Houma, passed away peacefully at 4:24 p.m. on Wednesday, March 1, 2017.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 7 from 9 a.m. until funeral time at 11 a.m. at Mt. Horeb Baptist Church located at 412 Railroad Avenue. Burial will follow in Christ Missionary Baptist Cemetery.
She is survived by her sons, Michael Wright and Alton Lewis both of Houma, La; a daughters, Beverly Gibson of Amelia, La., Mrs. Ernest (Sadie) LaGarde, Debra Lewis, Mrs. Herbert (Sharlene) Stokes and Stephanie Dock all of Houma, La; twenty-three grandchildren; fifty-four great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and a sister, Elmira Singleton of Franklin, La., a host of relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers and a sister.
